Document Imaging is the process by which
print and film documents are fed into a scanner and converted
into electronic documents. During the scanning process
documents can be OCRed and indexed to insure quick retrieval
at a later date. Using a scanning device and software
to translate a paper document into a computer file. The
file then can be sent to recipients on a network or the
World Wide Web, much like having a fax machine connected
to the Internet.
